Dublin, Ireland – August 15, 2024 – The inaugural Ireland Esports Collegiate Summer Tournament concluded with resounding success, marking a significant milestone for esports in Ireland. This new event showcased the dedication and skill of collegiate esports athletes across eight gaming titles, laying a solid foundation for future tournaments.

One of the standout features of the tournament was the number of Ireland Collegiate Alumni who returned to compete alongside current players. This underscored the enduring camaraderie within the Ireland esports community.

The tournament also served as a testing ground for new game titles, with Teamfight Tactics and Call of Duty emerging as strong contenders for future inclusion in collegiate esports competitions. In both titles Ireland has some strong prospects in those titles also, with collegiate level national players and content creators.

The addition of these titles received positive feedback from participants, highlighting their potential to become staple fixtures in upcoming 2024/25 Ireland Esports Collegiate Series.

In addition to showcasing player talent, the tournament introduced new creator talent and game administrators to the esports community, enriching the organisational team and enhancing the overall experience for participants and viewers alike.

Looking ahead, attention now shifts to the 2024 Collegiate Challenge scheduled for September, followed by the eagerly anticipated 2024/25 Ireland Esports Collegiate Series commencing in October.
